Zamzam University Trains Teachers on Effective Teaching Methods

 

On July 26 – 27 2023: Zamzam University of science and Technology (ZUST) organized a training on effective teaching methods for K12 schoolteachers and management. The two-day training, which was held on the university’s main campus,

consisted of practical activities to enhance teaching techniques in the 21st century and the use of modern classroom technologies and was attended by 86 participants from schools across the Banadir region.­­­­­
The training was led by a team of well-versed professionals from different backgrounds, who shared their expertise on differentiated instruction, active teaching, and technology-enhanced teaching and learning. The trainees were also given the opportunity to network with other educators and share their own experiences.
The training covered a range of topics, including differentiated instruction, active teaching, and technology-enhanced teaching and learning. Participants had the opportunity to learn about the latest teaching techniques and how to use modern classroom technologies to improve student learning.

“This training was a valuable opportunity for our teachers to learn new skills and strategies that will help them improve their teaching,” said Abdulkadir Mohamed Hassan, the president of Union of Banadir region schools. “We are grateful to Zamzam University for organizing this training and for providing our teachers with such high-quality instruction.”

As part of Zamzam University’s commitment to Sustainable Development Goals (SDG-4), which is to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

 

Closing Ceremony

The training was concluded with a closing ceremony, which was attended by Mr. Mohamud M. Hassan Harbi, the rector of Zamzam University and Abdulkadir Mohamed Hassan, the president of the Union of Banadir region schools. The two speakers made remarks about the importance of effective teaching methods and congratulated the participants on their completion of the training and how both institutions are committed to SDG-4. At the end certificates were also awarded to the participants, who were all eager to put their new skills into practice.

 

Universities Commitment on SDG

Zamzam University is committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are a set of 17 goals adopted by the United Nations in 2015. The SDGs are a call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all. The training was part of the university’s action on Sustainable Development Goals. Specifically on SDG-4 for Quality Education.
