MESSAGE FROM THE RECTOR

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful…

Welcome to Zamzam University of Science and Technology (ZUST), a multi-campus institution of higher learning in Somalia established in 2013 with a mission of optimizing the human capacity required by the country. In my view, there are three core pillars in our vision which serve to convey the unique spirit of our university.

  1. Our mission in research and education: it is in our core belief that teaching and learning as a fundamental element in our education system to train our students through scientific research and experiments.
  2. Human Element: a unique combination of people you’ll meet at one of our campuses. This element represents who we are: a fascinating and high-quality community of academic staff, administrative staff, and students. A community that teaches to learn how to think without determining what to think; a community that encourages lifelong learning.
  3. Our role in society: Zamzam University has significantly influenced Somali society through research, experts, and demonstrations. On a daily basis, our alumni have an impact on the community in which we reside, as a result of ideas and research that originated within our institution.

The university’s achievement is closely tied to the prosperity of the nation. The institution is committed to upholding and reinforcing its three core pillars, namely research and education, community, and society, all of which are founded on the fundamental right to unrestricted thinking. Our goal is to make the university a leading university that maintains the vibrant and advancing function of the Muslim ummah in all fields of study. Integrating, Islamizing, internationalizing, and excelling remain our top priorities.
