Wednesday, August 9, 2023 Mogadishu, Somalia – His Excellency the State Minister of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Somalia, Sheikh Abdisalam Sharif Hussein, paid a courtesy visit to Zamzam University of Science and Technology on Tuesday. He was accompanied by the TIKA Coordinator to Somalia.
The State Minister was welcomed by the Rector of Zamzam University, Mr. Mohamud Mohamed Hassan Harbi, and the Deputy Rector, Eng. Ahmed Osman Gedi. The delegation was given a tour of the university’s facilities, including the library, the research and production farms, and the poultry systems, and the University Technopak.
The visit was a positive opportunity for the State Minister to learn more about Zamzam University and its work the development of the future workforce with the technical skills needed in the productive sectors. The parties agreed to continue the discussion and to develop a concrete plan of action.
Zamzam University is well-positioned to play a leading role in this effort. The university has a strong track record of providing quality education to Somali students. It also has strong ties to the Turkish government and private sector, which can provide valuable resources for skill development.
