Introduction
The Bachelor of Animal Science (Animal Production) program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills required in livestock production, animal nutrition, breeding, and health management. The program focuses on improving the productivity and quality of animal products while supporting sustainable agricultural development. It addresses the critical role of livestock in Somalia’s economy, particularly in export markets, and prepares graduates to contribute to animal production, research, and agribusiness development both locally and internationally.
About The Program
The program integrates theoretical knowledge with practical training in areas such as animal husbandry, genetics, physiology, and feed technology. Students gain hands-on experience through laboratory work, field training, and research activities.
With emphasis on innovation, sustainability, and entrepreneurship, graduates are prepared to work in livestock management, dairy and poultry production, veterinary support services, and agricultural industries.
