On December 17th, 2023, the Faculty of Health Sciences Department of Nursing and Midwifery at Zamzam University of Science and Technology (ZUST) hosted a valuable practical training session on medical suturing techniques. This immersive workshop provided future nurses and midwives with the opportunity to hone their skills in a controlled environment, laying a strong foundation for their future professional practice.
The training session offered medical students hands-on experience in various suture techniques, utilizing realistic simulation materials. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, students practiced fundamental knot tying, wound closure approaches, and aseptic principles. This practical learning experience proved invaluable, complementing theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom with tangible skills development. The workshop fostered a collaborative atmosphere, allowing students to share insights and learn from each other’s experiences, strengthening their confidence and preparedness for real-world scenarios.
This initiative by ZUST aligns with its commitment to providing comprehensive and practical education for its nursing and midwifery students. By integrating hands-on training into the curriculum, ZUST empowers its graduates to confidently enter the healthcare workforce, equipped with the necessary skills to provide high-quality patient care. As the hashtag #ZUST2023 aptly suggests, this event exemplifies the university’s dedication to innovation and excellence in healthcare education.
