ZUST Welcomes External Scholars to Strengthen Research and Talent Development

Zamzam University of Science and Technology (ZUST), we are committed to nurturing a new generation of leaders through advanced learning and research. This commitment is enriched by the contribution of 6 external scholars and academics who joined us during the past academic year to support teaching, research supervision, and student mentorship.

Supporting Masters and Technical Programs

The external scholars play an active role in our Master’s programs and technical fields. They provide critical guidance in:

  • Agricultural research, helping students address challenges in soil health, crop productivity, and sustainable farming systems.
  • Poultry production and management, where they mentor students working on innovative solutions to strengthen local food security and agribusiness value chains.
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) research, particularly in applying emerging technologies to agricultural systems, data analysis, and smart solutions for Somali communities.

Their expertise ensures that our programs meet international standards while staying relevant to Somalia’s development priorities.

Training and Supervising Talent

Beyond teaching, the 6 scholars contribute directly to supervising student theses and applied research projects, particularly at the Master’s level. They also support technical training, equipping students with both practical skills and advanced research capacity. This dual focus prepares graduates not only for academic excellence but also for leadership roles in industry, entrepreneurship, and national development.

Building Future Capacity

The involvement of these external academics reflects ZUST’s vision of becoming a technically focused and research-driven university. By integrating their expertise into our curriculum, students gain access to diverse perspectives and hands-on mentorship in critical fields such as agriculture, poultry production, and artificial intelligence.
